How to exclude your own traffic from Google Analytics

One quick way to exclude your own traffic to your website is to exclude your IP address from Google Analytics.

1. Log in to Google Analytics and add a filter

Once logged in navigate to your account, property then click on Filters.

3. Enter the IP address you want to exclude

Enter a filter name.

In Filter Type select these values from the 3 drop-downs: “Exclude”, “traffic from the IP address” and “that are equal to”

In IP address field, enter your IP address.

Notes:

  1. To find out what your own IP address is, visit http://whatismyipaddress.com/ from and copy the address returned by the website.
  2. If your IP address changes you might have to update the filter with the new address.

Click on Save.
